![]() ![]() ![]() What I thought was going to be an easy task, has escalated into a very tedious and nerve wrecking process as I keep stumbling upon new errors. There is one internal HD in my Mac of 1TB. That made me interested and now I am determined to install Windows 8.1 on it. No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any keyĮrror when installing Windows 8.1 on 27-inch Mid 2011 iMac Hi,This is my first post here so please be gentle □I have a 27" Mid 2011 iMac running High Sierra (10.13.6) and only last week I read an article stating that you can actually install Windows on an Apple machine. I have done the same installation process with BCA to install Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 and have got the same result. It did not work, although if it recognized the usb with Windows 7 it was frozen when clicked, however with the ISO of Windows 10 following the same procedure if it installed correctly, but the version of my MacBook does not have the complete drivers for Windows 10 in addition to which in my opinion is quite slow compared to Windows 7. Install Windows 7 creating the boot from Windows on a PC with the Rufus application and start from the Mac boot screen (without using Boot Camp).Try 5 different USB 2.0 drives (HP, Sandisk, Kingston): Since in a video they think that the problem with this black screen warning is due to USB.I have been searching for ways to install Windows 7, without success. The installation was correct and without errors, after that I installed the updates from the App Store following the steps of the support website for the installation of Windows 7 from macOS High Sierra with Boot Camp: įollowing the above process, Boot Camp created the installation drive, the disk was partitioned during the process and when the computer restarted, this error appeared: No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key ![]() I used this video as a guide to install macOS High Sierra: All of which have been erased and fresh installed.A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to do a clean install - from scratch - of my macOS High Sierra and Windows 7 operating systems installed on my MacBook, after a year of use. It is not working on my 2012 model nor my 2013. So again, BootCamp is working fine on her 2011 model, BootCamp Assistant is working fine as well. Unless it has something to do with my iCloud but that would make absolutely no sense whatsoever (although stranger things have happened). Can't find a common denominator here considering it's working fine and will not crash on her 2011 model (which is also running the 10.13.1 beta). Proceeded to sign into my iCloud on it, updated to the new public beta and it's back to crashing. Figured OK great, I'll go ahead and set up my iCloud and everything on here then come back and install Windows. Just picked up a 2013 15" MBP, installed 10.13 and then tried BootCamp Assistant and it launched and started working. I formatted the drive, fresh installed High Sierra figuring I'll just set BootCamp up again but then, like others have said, Bootcamp Assistant crashes. Did the same exact install on my girlfriend's 2011 MBP and her Windows worked just fine after the upgrade. On my 2012 MBP when I installed High Sierra Beta it bricked the Windows side of things. ![]()
